Quorum Software
The Expert is a key role in our Professional Services team and will help implement innovative software solutions for energy companies across Malaysia, Asia Pacific and around the world. The Expert will be responsible for planning, designing, deploying, and innovating on technical services for customers as part of provide implementing proprietary software solutions to best fit customer needs. They will develop mastery & facilitate improvements of Quorum application installations and upgrades, infrastructure management, custom enhancements, and efficient infrastructure maintenance.
Experts have strong technical skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of the oil & gas industry with a specific focus/interest in Production, gas scheduling, dispatching, sales and revenue and an aptitude for solving problems.
The individual should have a strong desire for continuous learning and growth of technical skills, with the aspiration to leverage these skills to provide a positive experience for internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership for project implementation, major enhancements and managed services:
Lead a team of solution consultants to deliver new application implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and other technical or consultancy services for enterprise software customers, often with complex and highly customized solutions
Lead technical teams and initiatives focused on overall architecture for high-level design, detailed design, development, configuration, deployment, integration, testing and support of Quorum’s business software applications.
Master and train others on technical skills required for successful delivery, such as PLSQL, Restful JSON API configuration, AWS DevOps Pipelines, Java debugging and troubleshooting, and in-house Quorum tools
Manage many ongoing customer commitments and balance priorities across projects on independent schedules, ensuring successful completion of project-level goals.
Demonstrate technical and product expertise in customer conversations while representing Quorum positively.
Mentor junior and intermediate team members towards mastery of technical skills and ownership of high-quality, timely work.
Collaborate with leaders across other departments to plan and execute improvements to software implementation and configuration tools, processes, and documentation.
Develop a mastery of Quorum’s architecture systems, integration platform capabilities, and software development lifecycle processes.
Understand And Architect Client Workflows
Understanding client usage and workflow characteristic for specified accounts
Work with clients to become a “trusted advisor” on their internal processes around production, gas dispatching, sales and revenue
Ensure all work delivered adheres to industry standards, best practices, and tools including:
Project documentation and oversight of both internal and client standards and best practice workflows
Work with Product Management to ensure clients expectations and plans are aligned with the development timeline.
Maintain industry, market, and product knowledge, as well as stay abreast of competitor’s products, technology and offerings. Further, maintain knowledge of appropriate technology evolution.
Pro-actively share within the wider Quorum team the key knowledge learned with customers.
Occasionally Provide Technical Sales Support Which Includes
Participate in client meetings, providing the technical expertise as needed
Identify opportunities in customers
Help to define the value proposition for the client
Develop responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) as required by the RFP lead
Occasionally Provide Software Demonstrations Which Includes
Deliver consistent high quality software demonstrations to clients as needed
Be proficient in our solutions and identify key benefits for target audience
Prepare client tailored demonstrations in advance, including meeting or talking with the client prior to any presentation
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, business, or related discipline that has an analytical component
5+ years of related experience in solution architecture, software development and/or business consulting
5+ years of oil & gas industry experience or equivalent work experience
5+ years of experience with Energy Components or similar Hydrocarbon accounting/Production Management tools.
Experience working with customers and software users to gather business and technical requirements and deploy efficient, high-quality solutions
Good knowledge of general oil & gas downstream processes and workflows
Experience in mapping out client workflows and comparing to best practices
Experience leading a small to medium team (4+ people), mentoring colleagues of various experience levels, and managing end-to-end work deliverables
Strong technical aptitude and understanding of technology
Strong database skills (SQL) such as writing functions/procedures, converting and managing large sets of data, configuring application features, and troubleshooting issues
Strong programming skills (Java and/or other computer programming languages)
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and/or systems architecture
Proficient using technical business systems; e.g. Microsoft Office
Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical skills, desire for continuous learning
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills and a professional demeanour.
Strong interpersonal skills and confidence to conduct discussions with prospects or customers in both technical and senior management roles
Ability to meet with customers and prospects in order to help advance the sales cycle

Fluent in English, both written and verbal
