Softenger is looking for an experienced FinOps Engineer to optimize cloud spend across AWS, OCI, and hybrid environments within the insurance sector.

Job Location: Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia 🇲🇾

💼 Key Responsibilities
Monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud spend across AWS, OCI, and hybrid environments
Implement rightsizing, reserved instances, autoscaling, and storage lifecycle strategies
Build automated cost dashboards and reports using AWS Cost Explorer, OCI Cost Analysis, CloudHealth, and Python
Identify cost anomalies and drive corrective actions with engineering teams
Establish FinOps governance, tagging standards, chargeback/showback, and cost allocation frameworks
Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reconciliation
Automate cost reporting, anomaly detection, and budget alerts using Python, Terraform, and cloud-native tools
Integrate FinOps practices into CI/CD pipelines to enforce cost policies
Develop dashboards using Power BI, Grafana, QuickSight, or OCI Analytics
Track KPIs such as cost per policy, cost per claim, cost per workload, and cloud unit economics
Work closely with Cloud Engineering, Finance, Security, Product Owners, and Business teams
🛠️ Required Skills
Strong understanding of AWS & OCI pricing, billing, and cost optimization
Experience with CloudHealth, Apptio, Flexera, or Cloudability
Strong Python skills for automation and API integrations
Experience with Terraform and tagging/cost-aware provisioning
Strong reporting and dashboarding skills with Power BI, QuickSight, Grafana, or OCI Analytics
Knowledge of cloud governance, auditability, data residency, and cost transparency
Strong analytical, financial modeling, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
