Senior Procurement Engineer

🚀 We're Hiring: Senior Procurement Engineer (Mandarin Speaker) 🚀

Our client, a leading EPC company in the Oil & Gas industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Engineer to join their growing team in Malaysia. This role is ideal for procurement professionals with strong EPC/Oil & Gas experience and the ability to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking suppliers and stakeholders. Knowledge of Mandarin is required due to business and supplier coordination requirements.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with project schedules and budgets.
✅ Lead sourcing, supplier qualification, RFQ/RFP activities, bid evaluations, and commercial negotiations.
✅ Manage procurement of critical Oil & Gas packages including:
Pressure Vessels
Process Skids Valves, Piping Materials
Fittings Rotating Equipment Electrical
Instrumentation Equipment Structural Steel
Fabrication Materials
✅ Negotiate contracts, purchase orders, delivery schedules, warranties, and commercial terms.
✅ Coordinate closely with Engineering, Project Management, QA/QC, Planning, Construction, and Vendors.
✅ Monitor procurement progress, supplier performance, and project delivery milestones.
✅ Drive cost-saving initiatives while ensuring quality, compliance, and project requirements are met.
✅ Lead and mentor procurement team members and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements
✔ Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
✔ Minimum 15 years of procurement experience within Oil & Gas, EPC, Energy, or related industries.
✔ Proven experience handling large-scale EPC procurement activities.
✔ Strong commercial, contractual, negotiation, and supplier management skills.
✔ Familiar with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent.
✔ Strong understanding of Incoterms, logistics, customs procedures, and international sourcing.
✔ Experience working with international vendors and manufacturers.
✔ Mandarin language proficiency is required to facilitate communication with Mandarin-speaking suppliers and stakeholders.
✔ Willing to be based in Malaysia.
